GDC has been Canada’s national certification body for graphic and communication designers since 1956, establishing professional standards and actively regulating professional conduct. GDC is a member-based organization of design professionals, educators, administrators, students and affiliates in communications, marketing, media and design-related fields.
CHALLENGE
As Canada’s national certification body for graphic and communication designers, GDC licenses the unique CGD certification mark only to designers, educators and administrators whose services meet rigorous, standardized criteria
The CGD certification mark is recognized across Canada. The CGD member kit required a handbook piece to be included in their welcome package. This piece had the main objective of making the new member feel welcome to their national organization and provide resources for them to showcase their new GDC status
SOLUTION
As part of the membership kit the new CGD receives this member handbook with important information regarding their current commitment as CGDs and remind them of the standards they should align themselves to.
This printed handbook was part of a collective effort to create a memorable piece that would speak to designers and made them proud of achieving their certification status.
